But the most special ingredients are the Azelaic Amino Acid & Bearberry Extract which self-corrects hyperpigmentation. These powerhouses, along with other natural lightening agents of Licorice Root and Mulberry Extract, work in genius fashion to effectively fade dark spots and scars while leaving all other areas of the complexion naturally bright.

This means that unlike other skin brighteners, you don’t have to worry about your entire complexion getting lighter, instead you just notice your dark spots vanish!

Firstly, when using this product you have to be patient. After two weeks of use I am starting to see a slight improvement to the overall brightness of my complexion.But to get the most results, especially when trying to fade scars and dark spots, I would recommend using this serum for a full three months before judging it’s true effect.

In addition, I did notice a few small underlying pimples come up since and am unsure whether this serum is causing this or not. Like I mentioned above, brightening serums, or most serums in general, tend to be problematic for those with oily skin types.

With that being said, when combined with the DG Skincare Alpha-Beta peel (also reviewed on my site), miracles HAVE started to happen!

As for the serum alone, despite the complications and it’s tricky ease-of-use, I have been so impressed by Dr. Dennis Gross skincare in the past, that I have every confidence that this product will live up to it’s hype! Brightening and lightening, no matter what product, takes time…a lot of time. And it takes a true commitment, like a New Year’s resolution, in order to see drastic change!

Summary: This innovative serum by DG Skincare provides targeted brightening to fade dark spots AND brighten your complexion without over-lightening! Although a little tricky to use/apply due to it's ultra-watery like consistency, not to mention the slightly unpleasant odor, this serum DOES brighten the complexion. But be patient, as a total transformation and fading of scars & dark spots will take time and you may not see an immediate result. However, this serum in combination with the DG Skincare Alpha-beta peel provides AMAZING results in a short amount of time! In conclusion I recommend this serum for those with normal to dry or mature complexions that are looking for an anti-aging serum that will help fade dark spots and reduce fine lines.
